 Last year, my boyfriend surprised me with a chow-chow puppy which we decided to name Bobot. The story behind the name is a little funny. My mother told me some time ago that Shin look a lot like Bobot Mortiz when he was young. This is a fact which Shin takes pride in. Operative word is young.

In our family, we have a tradition of naming our dogs after the person who gave them (well, we kind of modify the names a bit ) and I really don’t have anything against cute and sweet dog names but i would prefer Bobot over Cream Puff any day.

I’ve been pretty much out for the past two years, since taking a break from graduate school. I was mostly spending hard-earned money to always get out of the city, out of the country and anywhere new and attractive to my liking.

My pay would always be just enough for my everyday expenses because majority of it would go to travel funds. Now I get to spend more for trivial stuff because I just realized, I am not going out anymore and that sucks.

I miss travelling, I miss being able to pretend like I’m a local in a foreign land, I miss getting lost in train stations, I miss eating food that doesn’t taste good but which I will eat just the same for experience’s sake, I just miss feeling so small in such a big world and yet having that sense of freedom, to do anything I want.

The break felt good but despite the itch to empty my savings again and go to wherever my credit limit would take me, I seriously need to get back on track.

For now, these would do.
