I was able to watch Cinderella at the CCP last rainy Thursday night with my parents. It was really good and I felt so proud knowing that what made it that great was our very own, Lea Salonga.

Kudos Lea! You make us Filipinos proud.

Although of course I have expected the play to be good, as what I have heard from the people who’ve seen it first, still it has managed to surpass my expectations. It wasn’t cheesy at all, filled with magic and romance but not the kind that would make one cringe. The lyrics were witty and lively, suited for children yet very entertaining for the adults as well.

I love the “Impossible! It’s possible!” part when Cinderella was talking to her godmother about how her wishes, like the pumpkin turning into a royal carriage to bring her to the ball, can actually come true.

It felt good to realize that I can still get giddy and dreamy watching Cinderella even at my age. Oh! And you should have seen my father giggle at the jokes, it was such a nice sight.

I guess some people appreciate stuff like that even if it’s superficial and fleeting because that’s the only thing they can afford to do especially during tough times, believe in the power of magic and romance, yes, that’s the drama queen in me speaking:)… but really, I wish Cinderella’s personality is real and possible. I wish to be as patient, as positive and as innocent as her. I wish I had a fairy godmother like her so I can ask her to “uncomplicate” my life.

So everyone, watch Cinderella, support our fellowmen as they showcase distinct Filipino talents - Bobby Garcia (director) and Lea Salonga (Cinderella)! Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will be staged at the Cultural Center of the Philippines until August 24, 2008.

It’s been a while now since I’ve actually posted something in here. My hands have been really full with the crazy back-to-school weeks, and the issues, the issues that I have exhaustingly faced these past days have been too much. I’m just glad that everything’s well now. Really, I’m hoping that this break would be long enough for me to breathe.

I am not going to talk about all those anymore, they’re over and I’m moving on.

UAAP basketball season is on again (opening on July 5, 2008)! I’m sure that this will be another exciting series of basketball games and school wars, although the “wars” should be kept in a healthy mannerJ. I’d love to see how DLSU will be able to grab a back-to-back stunt now that Tang and Villanueva are out of the roster. And of course, I’m still hoping that the Tigers will do better this time.

I’m also looking forward to seeing Broadway Asia Entertainment’s Cinderella with Lea Salonga as lead. It would be so interesting to watch her play a younger role, a princess with a prince charming at that. This would be a date with my mom as I’ve promised her the play ever since it was announced. It would be a breath of really fresh air from all the busyness and I’m just so excited.

There are only 173 days left before Christmas! Yey! I’m not pressuring you into your shopping or anything… I just want you all to get excited like meJ! It’s really true that days come and go fast and with another blink of an eye you would see that another start of the year is just right around the corner so let’s treasure the days and the time we have because they’re never coming back.

Love the people you love more, hug them everyday if you can, apologize for the things you do that hurt them, and no matter how cheesy it is tell them – let them know how much you cherish the days you spend together.

So I’m giving you all a big hug and a handful of kisses and hope these will make your day better!
